Dalziel & Company Privacy Agreement
At Dalziel & Company respect you and your privacy. We believe it is generally good business practice to ensure that the people engaging with our brand genuinely want to hear from us and have given that consent.
This document is our Privacy Agreement and is effective as of May 25, 2018. In this document we aim to be as transparent as possible about the information we collect, how and why we collect that information.
Dalziel & Company is a DBA of Jessica Dalziel Enterprises LLC, which is a business registered in Michigan, USA. If you have any questions you can contact Jessica Dalziel by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’), Dalziel & Company would be considered the ‘data controller’ in most instances and our third-party tools (as outlined in following sections) are the ‘data processors’ in most instances unless otherwise noted.
The information we collect
We collect your information when you visit our site, opt-in to subscribe to our newsletter, when you place an order, when you complete a form or when you book a free consultation with us. We use a variety of third-party tools to create the best experience possible for our users and clients, which is covered in the following section. We may collect your email address, first or last name and any required information to process a payment online such as your payment method and your address.
Why we collect it
The information that we do collect (as previously outlined) is used to improve your overall experience when interacting with the Dalziel & Company website. We also collect information if a user wishes to contact Dalziel & Company so that we can provide a more relevant response. From time-to-time we may also conduct a survey to improve our services and/or experience on our website. Additionally, we need certain information in order to process orders and accept payments from our clients, which enables our team to deliver services to those clients.
Third Party Tools, Unsubscribing, Disabling Cookies and More
We will never sell or trade your data to a third party. However, we cannot operate our business without the use of third-party tools. This section outlines the third-party tools we utilize and how they use your data.
We use Memberful to process our orders, which requires collecting some information in order to do that. Memberful is a third-party provider, which may process your data using industry standard technologies to help Dalziel & Company process orders and payments. To protect your data, Memberful’s data protection information can found here: https://memberful.com/data-protection/. Our clients have ‘self-service’ access to their accounts and can update information at any time. They have the right to rectification and erasure. More can be found here: https://memberful.com/blog/gdpr-membership-site/
We use Stripe to help process our orders, which requires collecting some information in order to do that. Stripe is a third-party provider, which may process your data using industry standard technologies to help Dalziel & Company process the actual payments. Stripe has certain data processing activities for which it acts as a data controller, and others for which it acts as a data processor. A good illustration of this dual role is when Stripe processes credit card transactions. Facilitating a transaction requires the processing of personal data, such as the cardholder’s name, credit card number, the credit card expiry date, and CVC code. The cardholder’s data is sent from the Stripe user to Stripe via the Stripe API (or by some other integration method, such as Stripe Elements). Stripe then uses the data to complete the transaction within the systems of the credit card networks, which is a function that Stripe performs as a data processor. However, Stripe also uses the data to comply with its regulatory obligations (such as Know Your Customer (“KYC”) and Anti Money Laundering (“AML”), and in this role Stripe is a data controller. More about how Stripe is GDPR compliant can be found here: https://stripe.com/guides/general-data-protection-regulation
Again if you have any questions you can contact Jessica Dalziel by emailing email@example.com. Otherwise we will work under the assumption that if you continue to use our website you are actively in agreement with this privacy agreement.
